Stick a Fork in Me…
I’m Done.
Everything (except avatars/userpics) seems to be working. I’ll chase up the picture stuff a little later. (it’s 5:30am here and I have to be at work at 9:30am)
I’ve changed the DNS to point at the new server. If you have a way of purging and refreshing your DNS cache. I suggest you do that but the TTL on the old IP address was only an hour so hopefully in a couple of hours it should have propogated around the net to just about everyone.
You’ll know you’re on the new server when you see the site instead of the maintenance message.
It’s entirely likely that something on the forums will be broken. I’ve started a thread in the Feedback section for people to report any bugs or non-working bits they encounter. Use that if you’re aware of anything else that needs fixing, even if it’s been around a while. I’ll update the post at the top from time to time with the problems I’m aware of.
There will be more changes coming in the next couple of weeks (or even days) but they won’t require any major downtime (most won’t require any at all).
Please be patient over the new few days while I iron out all the kinks in the new server. Constantly complaining and nagging about things being broken doesn’t get it fixed any faster. Trust me at the moment all my spare time is going into this. Sadly spare time isn’t in copious supply at the moment.
Anyway, I’m off to bed. Enjoy the new lag-free server.

Waiting Waiting Waiting
Things are proceeding really well. Not at all as painful as I imagined it would be. More tedious than painful.
Now it’s simply a matter of the waiting as the 900 odd torrents and however many thousand avatars copy over to the new site from the old one.
There’s a couple more tweaks to make but they shouldn’t take long.
To answer everyone’s questions.
The site is not moving. the URL will be the same I’m just moving to a bigger and faster server.
Some idiot asked why now? Would you rather stay with the site that was wilting under th e opening weekend onslaught? That’s why now. I guess the next question some other impatient leecher will ask is why I didn’t do it before.
2 Reasons. SICK FAMILY
I haven’t been well and neither have my wife or son. And as much as I love American Football and TYT it comes a long way second to my family. The site was supposed to be moved late last week (Wed/Thu/Fri or thereabouts) however it just so happened that that was when I was sick. Once I got started to get better I was looking after my son while my wife caught it. Result — Site migration delayed.
I had hoped to be able to do it after the opening weekend. However said opening weekend managed to just about crash the old server. Site visitors doubled inside a day. Sadly the old machine finally gave up the ghost and the move had to be made now.
But you’re not missing much. Most of the first weekend games have been releasedand as soon as the site goes back up I’m sure all the other ones will be posted too. A bit of patience will do all you some good.
On the up side. We now have a nice bright shiny new server and a cleaned up codebase (not as clean as I’d like cause the move was a bit more rushed than I’d hoped but it’s better than before) So that means I can start adding new features and fixing all those long lingering bugs.
The only bit you will all have to endure now is the DNS update as it makes it’s way around the interweb. But I’ll post some details a bit later about that.
More news soon.

About to Begin
The Migration is about to begin. The old site will be closed. Never to be opened again. You should see the maintenance message there letting you know what’s happening.
I’ll update here as things progress.
Dan.
